Mission Statement
Christian County Day Treatment Center provides unwavering support to juveniles and equipping with the tools necessary to grow and change their viewpoint and outlook.
About Christian County Day Treatment Center
Christian County Day Treatment Center was founded in the early 80s as an independent facility for youth education, before becoming a part of the Department of Juvenile Justice. The facility serves primarily Hopkinsville Group Home and Christian County but can accept students from nearby counties.
Christian County Day Treatment Center offers a variety of support services to juveniles in their programs, including group, individual, and family therapy through the Support, Teach, Empower, Protect, and Serve system. The facility is mindful to be active in the local community and takes frequent field trips to ensure youth receive a well-rounded education.
Roland Johnson, Facility Manager
Roland Johnson has been with the Department of Juvenile Justice since 2000, and currently serves as the juvenile facility manager of Christian County Day Treatment Center. He previously held the same position at Hopkinsville Group Home.
Johnson has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Kentucky Wesleyan University and a master’s in public administration from Kentucky State University. While attending Kentucky Wesleyan, Johnson completed practicum work with the department in Owensboro, leading him to pursue his career in juvenile justice after graduation.
He says his main source of motivation is seeing youth who are initially resistant to change work to better themselves.
