About Ashland Group Home
The Ashland Group Home was founded in 1997. The facility was originally located on the grounds of an old Tuberculosis Hospitals before moving into an independent building in 2004. The facility houses a maximum of eight juveniles.
The focus of the Ashland Group Home is teaching juveniles how to successfully live independently. The home teaches various life skills, including how to do laundry, cook, clean and financial education. Juveniles housed at this facility attend school at Ashland Day Treatment, but there is the opportunity for those who have graduated high school to take online college courses through the community and technical school system. They also partner with local business for various employment opportunities if the juvenile displays good behavior and desire to do so.
The Ashland Group Home provides various forms of therapy to the juveniles helping them transition to independent living or job corps opportunities following their stay at the facility.
